New Zealand: Itinerary


Where am I going?

 April 4th: First stop Auckland, New Zealand – North Island:

I’ll be spending a few days in Auckland, familiarizing with all things NZ’ish.  Then heading out of Auckland in a camper van (yes that’s right, a camper van!!) and heading up the west coast of the North Island to:

April 7th:

  • Orewa

April 8th:

  • Tutukaka
  • Matapouri
  • Kawakawa
  • Paihia
  • Waitangi Treaty Grounds
  • Kerikeri
  • Whangaroa
  • Doubtless Bay

April 9th – 11th:

  • Kaitaia – from here heading right up to the North Cape to visit the ninety mile beach!

April 12th:

  • Waimate North
  • Kaikohe (hot springs)
  • Rawene

April 13th:

Heading back down the east coast to:

  • Opononi
  • Waipoua Forest
  • Dargaville

April 14th:

  • Helensville
  • Henderson
  • Titirangi

April 15th

  • Ngaruawahia
  • Raglan (Bridal Veil Falls)
  • Hamilton

April 16th

  • Hobbiton – where the little people live!

April 17th:

  • Rotorua – checking out the Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland

April 20th – 21st:

  • (Tongariro National Park)
  • Napier
  • Hawkes Bay

April 23rd:

  • Feilding

April 24th – 27th:

  • Wellington

April 28th

  • Ferry Crossing from the North to the South island

South Island:

April 28th – 29th

  • Picton
  • Marlborough Sounds

April 30th:

  • Greymouth

May 1st :

  • Pancake blow holes
  • Franz Joseph Glacier

May 2nd:

  • Wanaka

May 3rd – 7th:

  • Queenstown
  • Milford Sound (trip from Queenstown)

May 7th:

  • Catlins Peninsula

May 8th – May 9th:

  • Dunedin
  • Otaga Peninsula

May 10th :

  • Lake Tekapo

May 11th– May 14th:

  • Christchurch

 Say bye bye to the camper van and head to the airport for Australia!
